TDC is now investigating claims that it may have lost some of its treasures. Tony Ovenden, a Margate Museum & Thanet Coast Project volunteer, has alleged that publicly owned art and historical artefacts have been lost or are unaccounted for, due to a culture of mismanagement.

Three members of a gang of nine dealing in drugs across Canterbury and the South Coast , who live in Broadstairs have all received prison sentences. Angela McColl, 52, of Prospect Road, received a two year sentence, suspended for two years; Justin McColl, 31, of Camden Road was jailed for 4 years and Daniel Bridge, 27, of Carlton Avenue was jailed for 3 years.
