107.8 Academy FM is the ONLY OFFICIAL radio station broadcasting to the Isle of Thanet (Ramsgate, Margate, Broadstairs and surrounding area).

Licenced by OFCOM, we recently celebrated our 10th Birthday having started broadcasting from what was the Marlowe Academy in Ramsgate (now Royal Harbour Academy) on the 5th April 2010

Since our launch we​ have established ourselves as a firm favourite with the local community and beyond providing a mix of music, local news and information but also acting as a facility offering students and the local community a unique insight into radio broadcasting. Most of our presenters have worked in commercial radio and give their time freely to support the radio service that you have come to enjoy.

We are a non-profit company set up to serve the community of Thanet. We rely heavily on the generosity of the local business community for donations, and Charitable Trusts for grants, which ensures that we have the necessary funding to continue operating. We can also take a certain amount of paid advertising under a change of rules by OFCOM 

By supporting us you will increase awareness of your business and through our student training programme help to make radio stars of the future.
